FIRE Simulator
Financial independence calculator with Monte Carlo simulations and projections

Overview
An interactive platform helping individuals calculate and visualize their personalized path to financial independence. The tool delivers detailed projections, scenarios, and actionable insights for retirement planning. It runs Monte Carlo simulations against historical market data to project portfolio growth, withdrawal strategies, and the probability of running out of money.
Most FIRE calculators online are oversimplified — they assume fixed returns and ignore inflation variability, sequence-of-returns risk, and tax implications. Spanish-speaking audiences had almost no quality tools available. Users needed something that felt trustworthy without requiring a finance degree.
We built a comprehensive simulator that models variable returns using historical data distributions. Users input their current savings, monthly contributions, expected expenses, and target retirement age. The engine runs thousands of Monte Carlo simulations and presents results as probability distributions. Interactive Chart.js visualizations let users explore scenarios by adjusting variables in real time.
The tool gained a dedicated following in the Spanish-speaking FIRE community. Users report it helped them make concrete savings decisions and set realistic retirement timelines. The PWA approach means it works offline — perfect for financial planning on the go.
